What a DAY!

Ok, first, sorry for no pictures. For some reason, it wont let me upload pictures so, you'll just have to check the picasa album tomorrow. Second, sorry for using this as my 'venting' source but, it's a good way to get out my frustrations! I'm only sorry that I dont have any 'good' news!
So, the day started out with a promising outlook... I have a car now, I can go do things.. get things done... So, I decide to go get Tristans social security card started. I get not even a quarter of the way there and Rodney calls me to come back to the base to get the car a safety check so he can go change over the title and registration. Ok, I get to the AutoPort on the base. First, the lady tells me that I need the registration in order to get the safety check. So, I call Rodney, he brings it over. Then, the man takes my keys, comes back and says he can't do the safety check because the front plate wasn't displayed on the front of the car. (Even though it was inside the car). WHATEVER! So, complete waste of my morning. Rodney came and took the car for the rest of the morning and got everything straightened out.
So, he gets back at 1pm. We all decide to go to the gym. I work out for a half an hour and he's still playing basketball when I leave. I got to the store then go up to the MWR office to see about putting the kids in a swim class. All the swim classes were filled (it was the first day of sign-ups), and the only class that was still open takes up Thursday morning. I'm not giving up my Thursday morning group right now! Its keeping me sane! So, thanks, but no thanks.... I get a phone call while I'm there. Its Tony, Rodneys friend. He says.. "Rodney screwed up his knee playing basketball, the ambulance just took him to the hospital" GREAT!!! Are you serious?? So, I take all three kids to the hospital, meanwhile, I'm still gross and sweaty from working out, and we sit in the ER until 6pm. Tony brought Subway for Rodney because he didn't eat anything all day except for a piece of toast with apple butter on it, and the stupid lady at the front desk wouldn't let us take it back to him... first it was, "He's just getting pain meds and then he'll be out because there are no rooms back there.." Then, a half an hour later, our second attempt to get it back there, she says, "He's getting discharged right now, he'll be out in a few minutes." Ok, 20 more minutes go by and I tell Tony that Rodney gets sick to his stomach if he doesn't eat when he's hungry... So, Tony goes up to the lady, hands the bag over and says "Take this back there to him..." She does, finally, and then comes back to tell us that he's been sitting in the pharmacy for about 20 minutes. We could have been back in the pharmacy with him!!!
Anyways, I get him home, he has to sit in the bath because HE'S sweaty from working out, we get him situated with pillows in bed, Tristan is SCREAMING his head off cause he's tired and the poor boy just wants to go to bed, the other two are up my butt for water and I still have to make dinner for everyone! I cooked dinner at 7pm, it is now 830 and the kids are finally in bed, and no, I still haven't showered! I can't wait for this day to be over so.......................................................

Update on Saipan Story

Ok, here's what happened.... the guys were walking somewhere and instead of walking around a really long bush, they decided to go over it. All of them rolled over the bush at the same spot, but, one of the guys decided to roll over it in a different spot.... Yep, he fell in a hole!

My Frustrations With Guam

I decided to make this a post only because I know that I will be telling more than one of you this story and, it just makes it easier to fill you all in at once. And, so poor Amy doesn't have to be the only one to hear my wrath!
So, when you have a baby in the states, everything is so easy... you fill out the papers at the hospital for the birth certificate and social security card... the hospital sends in your birth certificate paperwork and.. wallah.. the birth certificate is mailed to your house! You take home the social security paperwork, mail it in and... wallah.. the social security card is sent to your house... Well, not here on Guam!

I had Tristan and didn't find out until 2 months later that we were supposed to go PICK UP his birth certificate out in town, we get there, and they only accept check or cash, neither of which I had on me. So, back another day, another 20 minute drive on a day Rodney had to get off early to do this. It took so long to get the birth certificate, (let me mind you that I was the ONLY one there to pick on up!), that the social security office had closed. (It was before 4pm!) Ok, fine, I get home, print out the social security paperwork and look online at the social security website to find out how to apply... Easy enough, just send in the paperwork, with the original birth certificate and a funny paper from the hospital that has Tristans footprints and two stamps on the back from the hospital. I get everything together, put in an envelope, put a stamp on it and on it's way it goes...
Three weeks later, still no Social Security card! This would not have been an issue if I did not find an AWESOME price on plane tickets for all 5 of us to come home for the month of June. It ran across my mind that... OOOPS! We all need passports! Where is Tristans S.S. card?! I need it to apply for his passport!? So, I call the SS office here on Guam just to inquire on if they can give me a status on it. "Oh" says the lady on the other end of the phone, "Do you live in Japan?" Noooooo.... I live here on Guam... "Oh" she says... "Then you have to come in and apply for the S.S. card." You have GOT to be kidding me!? "So, where is my stuff, my sons birth certificate, my application, the funny little paper with his footprints!?" Again... "Oh, we sent that back to you certified mail." DOPE! That certified letter came on last Thursday! I was at my moms group... Rodney wasn't here to go pick it up and I just forgot about it because I thought it was about late payment on hospital bills! So, the lady tells me, "Go get your things and come into the office early in the morning to apply for the card." Well, how long does it take to get the card in? "3-4 weeks." GREAT!!! 4 weeks for the card plus 6 weeks for the passport... NO WAY are we going to make it home in June! (Sorry Jonathan... there goes your graduation!)
So, determined to find a way to make this work, (because there is NO WAY I'm giving up the prices on these tickets...) I call the passport office here on Guam. "No worries" says the lady on the other end of the phone... "In the space for his SSN.. just write 'applied for'." We don't consider the ssn to be a form of identification." FANTASTIC! Finally, some reassuring news! "Trade in your no-fee passports to reduce the fee of the regular passports." (Yes Amy, you need military orders to travel with the no-fees.) Ok, I feel better.... Now, only one problem... how am I going to get there!!??? It is like pulling teeth to get Rodney off of work to run errands, only, he HAS to be there for the passports, but... when will he be able to go?! Cross your fingers that it will be this week! Hopefully if I get someone to take me to moms group on Thursday, I can pick up the certified letter then, since it is at the post office on that base, and that will be one task down... only two more to go....
Oh, I guess I have to tell Rodney all of this and ask him if he wants to go home in June!! :c) I'm making all of these plans without him! But, I can't call him because he doesn't have his phone today of all days!
So, I hope to see all of you who are in the states in June. If this doesn't work out, I may think about venturing all the way home on a mac flight with the three kiddos. But, guess what... if I do that... I'm traveling with only one small bag so you all will have to buy us clothes while we're there! haha.

Rodney's Trip to Saipan

As you all know, Rodney had a trip to Saipan this past weekend. It was a dependents cruise but, I couldn't go because the kids are too young. So, for those of them that had to get underway, without family, they had a liberty port. Which means, they don't have to work, can do whatever they want, but have a curfew to get back to the ship every night. I talked to Rodney a few times while he was there, didn't seem like he was doing anything too exciting. He was supposed to take some pics of the scenery there for me but, I guess all I got were some bar pics! I decided to share them with you even though I have NO idea what they did down there besides playing some volleyball on the beach, watching some of the guys wakeboard, and as you can see, hang out at the bar....

No idea whats going on here but had to share this pic simply becuase its hysterical! (Kirk and Rodney playing darts)

Wolf (Gene), Kirk, and some dude I dont know posing as characters...

I guess Rodney made a 'we were here' mark at a bar... only, he was the only one there. Atleast he was thinking of us! :c)

Rodney and Wolf playing a very large game of Jenga

WTF?!!!

Haven't heard this story!!...

Looks like maybe someone in a hole?? When I find out what happened I'll be sure to fill you in on it!

Thanks Amy!!!

Just wanted to give a 'shout out' to my girl Amy.... haha. She is the lovely artist who made my new header for my page. She was bored and somehow thought of me...! Thanks Amy! I love it!!!

Funny Pics of Us

We are sitting here anxiously awaiting Rodney's return from his trip to Saipan. Tatum looked so cute to me today that I wanted to take her picture and then it turned into a family pic. It must have been a funny site watching me set the timer and then run across the room holding Tristan and diving behind Rodney and Tatum so that we made it in the picture!

Thank you Grandma Hanson

These are just a few pictures of the kids playing with their new toys from Grandma Hanson....

Rodney keeps calling his truck a bus or "mac" from Cars

This is not the right bear. She just wanted to read the book and grabbed another white bear she got from 'Aunt' Amanda.
